Northamptonshire, England
Entrepreneurs · Property Investors · Hospitality Professionals · Philanthropists
Raj and Ann Miah are established entrepreneurs, property investors and philanthropists based in Northamptonshire, with a diverse portfolio of business interests and investments extending across England and Wales.
Over several decades, they have built and managed successful ventures across hospitality, property investment and development — combining entrepreneurial vision with a hands-on understanding of business, people and opportunity.
Today, Raj and Ann own and manage their own substantial residential and commercial property portfolio. Their interests encompass properties held individually, jointly and through limited companies in which they are shareholders. Their approach has always been centred on long-term investment, prudent management and identifying opportunities capable of creating enduring value.
"Independence, diversification, long-term thinking and responsible stewardship."
Raj's entrepreneurial story began remarkably early. From approximately the age of 12, and whilst still at school, he worked in restaurants around Northampton, initially washing dishes. What began as a first job developed into a lifelong passion for food, hospitality and entrepreneurship — fuelled by Raj's natural curiosity about cooking and his enthusiasm for experimenting with cuisines from around the world.
Raj established his first restaurant business in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, during the mid-1990s. Over subsequent years, he acquired and operated further restaurant businesses, gaining extensive experience across hospitality, management, operations and investment.
It was during this period that Raj increasingly recognised the potential of property investment and development. He subsequently diversified his entrepreneurial interests, building a substantial residential and commercial portfolio alongside his hospitality ventures — always with an eye on long-term, enduring value across England and Wales.
Having spent many years working exceptionally long hours and travelling extensively for business, Raj and Ann have deliberately transitioned into a new stage of their professional lives. Raj is now more office-based, while both have reduced their involvement in the demanding day-to-day operations that characterised earlier years — creating the freedom to explore new opportunities, particularly those that offer intellectual stimulation, personal fulfilment and the opportunity to create a meaningful social impact.
Operating with autonomy and clarity of purpose — building ventures that stand on their own foundations and create lasting value without external dependency.
Every decision is weighed against its lasting impact. Raj and Ann invest not for quick returns but for enduring, generational value and prudent stewardship.
Spanning hospitality, residential and commercial property across England and Wales — a resilient, balanced portfolio built over decades of real-world experience.
Compassion and dignity should be extended to everyone, regardless of creed, colour, race or religion.
For Raj and Ann, the next chapter is not simply about further commercial success. It is about purpose, contribution and legacy.
Food remains particularly important to Raj. His lifelong experience in cooking and hospitality has given him a practical skill that he now wishes to use in a different way — teaching others, bringing people together and providing food and support to those experiencing hardship.
Despite their business achievements, Raj and Ann regard family as one of their greatest accomplishments. They have two adult children who are both married and settled — their son resides in Dubai, where he works in real estate, and they are proud grandparents to a granddaughter and grandson.
Having built businesses, investments and a secure family life over many decades, they are now increasingly focused on what those achievements can enable them to do for others.
Their definition of success is therefore evolving — from simply building wealth to creating value; from commercial achievement to meaningful contribution; from working for success to using success in the service of others.
Raj and Ann continue to approach the future with curiosity and ambition. Whether through property, hospitality, food, community initiatives or philanthropy, they are seeking opportunities that combine experience with purpose and provide genuine personal fulfilment.
“To live well, give generously, remain curious and support others — creating a ripple effect of kindness and opportunity that leaves a positive and lasting legacy.”
